About
Local, honest, no upselling.
We cut hedges. We reduce overgrown ones. And we look after the trees behind them, pruning, crown reduction and deadwooding, specified for this coast's chalk soil and salt-exposed conifers, not a one-size approach lifted from an inland town.
That's it. We don't do lawn care, fencing, or the rest of the garden-services bundle. Hedges and boundary trees are a craft worth being good at; we keep our focus narrow so we are.
St Margaret's Bay and the clifftop gardens near South Foreland take the full force of Channel gales; a hedge that would be fine a mile inland gets scorched brown on its seaward face here within a season if the wrong species was planted. Ground on the village side of St Margaret's is chalk-influenced and drains fast, which changes how a hedge establishes compared with the heavier clay you get further inland towards Dover. A contractor who doesn't work this stretch of coast regularly won't know the difference without being told.
We work this patch every week. The salt-wind factor is built into how we advise on species and staging for exposed gardens. The recommendations match what actually holds up here, not what works fifty miles inland.
